What's happening in our Country, State, and towns demands engagement, not retreat. When something isn’t working, we step up.
District 8 includes all of Columbia and Coventry, and parts of Bolton, Lebanon, and Tolland.
Great news for the 8th District from Lombard for the 8th Campaign!
July 1, 2026
Thanks to your incredible support, the Lombard for the 8th campaign has been officially approved for Connecticut’s Citizens’ Election Program (CEP) campaign finance grant.
Approval for a CEP grant is a rigorous process that requires a candidate to gather a qualifying threshold of small-dollar contributions directly from local residents. Reaching this goal at such a quick pace is a testament to Francis Lombard's hard work, the surging grassroots momentum of his campaign, and the overwhelming community support behind his vision for the 8th District.
Qualifying for this grant means our campaign is 100% powered by the people, not special interests. Reaching this milestone proves that the momentum is real and our community is ready for change.
Now that the CEP grant is locked in, we are shifting our focus entirely to what matters most: talking to voters, knocking on doors, and securing a Democratic win for the 8th District State Representative seat this November!
Let’s keep this momentum going all the way to Election Day!

About Francis Lombard
Raised in a Massachusetts small business family, Francis Lombard's political outlook was shaped by the struggles of the Great Recession. The experience reinforced his belief that government must do more than talk about the challenges facing working families and instead deliver real results.
For the past decade, Francis has built his life in Connecticut's 8th District with his wife, working to elect Democrats, support local communities, and strengthen relationships across the region. He is running to bring greater investment to eastern Connecticut, protect working families, and ensure the district receives its fair share from Hartford.
Let’s fight to keep Connecticut a great place to live.
More Money in Your Pocket
Lower Property Taxes
I will fight for the state to increase funding for our towns, including Education Cost Sharing, a major driver of the state’s property tax issue.Help for Families
I support legislation to help parents afford the high cost of raising kids and with helping seniors survive on tight, fixed incomes.Smart Spending
I will work to see that our state spends taxpayer money wisely, reduces debt, and avoids raising your taxes in the future.
Good Jobs for our Future
Connecting Education to Jobs
I want to ensure that what students learn in high school and beyond aligns with workforce needs and leads to good-paying regional jobs.Small Business Help
I will make it easier to start and run a small business by eliminating confusing and unnecessary rules and requirements.Fair Pay
Everyone deserves equal pay for equal work. Your paycheck should actually cover the rising cost of everyday things like groceries and gas.
Strong Towns. Great Schools.
School Funding
Town school districts need more State funding to meet mandates and student needs. Every child deserves a great education. Housing Costs
Housing costs are pushing young adults and seniors out of CT. We must reverse this trend while preserving the character of our towns.Aging Infrastructure
Our economy depends on our infrastructure. We need sound planning to improve roads and mass transit and how we fund these costs.
